    photo size limit

Hi there, is there any rhyme or reason to the photo size limit?

It is extremely limiting... and exceedingly small (especially for some of the forums dealing with photography and art).... I think a minimum 1 MB size would be better....

does v bulletin charge you for space? okay that's strange.... there did appear to be a limit. it was coming back with like kilobytes as opposed to megabytes before and now I uploaded a full size picture of my cat for no reason...

BTW where is this forum hosted?

Well, the hosting we have I understand is with limited storage, Don't ask me why, I don't know all the details.

We host vBulletin on our own servers. Every picture that is uploaded ends up on our servers and thus requires memory allocation. It adds up and can contribute to having paying more.

It is worth noting that you can just link your photos from another hosting site. The image is then not saved on our servers and we don't take the hit.

So for this image I just copied the link and then unchecked the box "Retrieve remote file and reference locally"

No copy on the Treeleaf servers.

And yes, this is a real product.

If you just post a link then it is treated as an url and the picture won't show up. You need to click the image button at the top of your posting area

              image.png

Then enter the information for you image - the link - where it says URL. And be sure to uncheck the box that says. So it has no check mark.

Sorry Matt , I am a Luddite, I don't use my phone to connect to Treeleaf. I am afraid we have exhausted my knowledge about this.

Hi Meishin. Yeah I can do that kind of posting... Others do in-text posting and use a URL which does not require photo upload and has no limits for quality...

I'm still doing some research on it... I think there are some third party extensions that might allow me to use google photos... this is an effort in convenience and maintenance of quality.
