Feeling better, so can post this today. Below is my demonstration of how to "sit" Zazen with the flu or like illness. Not sure what I was mummbling but I think it was this:
All is just what it is, sick is just sick ... yet yucky is yucky.
Nothing to cure ... yet take your medicine, try to get better.
Okay to moan ... even the Buddha got sick.
When he had eaten Cunda's food, I heard,
With fortitude the deadly pains he bore.
From the sukara-maddava a sore
And dreadful sickness came upon the Lord.
But nature's pangs he endured. "Come, let us go
To Kusinara," was his dauntless word.
Mahaparinirvana Sutta
Not sure how dauntless I was, need to ask my wife about that one (She was sick too, a couple of days ahead of me). She isn't married to the Buddha.
Anyway, this is how to "sit" Zazen when sick ...
PS- the picture, whatever it looks like, were some scientists and doctors trying to see what was hidden in an old Buddha statue. There was a mummy of an old Chan Master inside. LINK
