I'm not good at this philosophy stuff, so this is just something to kill time until our wiser more experienced sangha members and teachers show up. Anyway:
Sometimes it can certainly feel that way. You can feel alone in a crowd of people, feel separated from this universe even as you immersed in it, feel sad in the midst of miracles. But you should know it is all an illusion. You are never alone. You can't separate yourself from that crowd, this sangha, those mountains, or anything else in this world. You are inextricably linked to everything in this universe. You don't have to take my word for it, it's all here in this practice.
