SIT-A-LONG with JUNDO: Our Official Treeleaf New Year Teisho

    Felicitations,

I offered an "OFFICIAL FORMAL NEW YEAR TEISHO" talk to welcome the New Year, welcoming the New Everything ...

... if folks would have a listen and "sit-a-long" (about the first 30 minutes here) ...

Wonderful talk Jundo! I tend to get a bit melancholy on New Years day....sort of the end of the holiday season. We typically take down our holiday decorations and I have memories of my dad always burning our Christmas Tree in the fireplace on New Years Day....I guess it is better than just throwing it away in the garbage. Yet to look on the day as a new beginning, as each moment is as well, is very helpful. Although we may not typically frame Zen in these terms, it truly can be quite inspirational, helping us to see life in a more positive way, yet, at the same time, helping us to see and to accept life just as it is.

Working on classical Japanese....sounds pretty cool! The best in 11 to you, Mina, Leon, and Tin Tin!

        Gassho,
        Jisen/BrianW

Thank you, Jundo, and a happy new year to you too. Again, I think, because I also did it in another post ...
In holland we also have our resolutions for the new year. My son will clean his room again, for the 5th year running ...
And I will think about you losing weight. I've been there and done that. Went back again and done it again, and again.
I still need to lose about 15 kgs. So my first, most important resolution is not to lose my sense of humor, I think ;-)).

Well... I started to sit-along... and then the two girls who live downstairs came up and wanted to play with my rat and dog... and my jewelry... and look at my shoes...

"What's that?" "Can I have some?" "Where did this come from?" "WHY NOT?"

Late to the party as usual ... but it is still the New Year!

I just wanted to compliment you, Jundo, on your choice of resolutions - breathing, time wasting, chocolate - all very fine! I wish you much success and I might even join you. I think I could actually do an okay job of those.

                      All the best for 2011.
