Jundo Talk: When Friends Disappoint ...

A talk from our recent Zazenkai: We should recognize the natural emotional reactions, yet not drown in those reactions, when a friend or loved one greatly disappoints. It is so good and worthwhile in life to stay open, trusting, loving and caring even when, sometimes, once in awhile, it will come around to bite one.

The sometime "bad apple" can do great damage, and get all the headlines and attention, but never forget that there is still an orchard of good apples out there who do not get as many headlines in this world. Never close up.

Let us dance together, as learned fools.

Please excuse any indication that I am trying to teach anything. I am a priest in training and have no qualifications or credentials to teach Zen practice or the Dharma.

I am a novice priest-in-training. Anything that I say must not be considered as teaching
and should be taken with a 'grain of salt'.

I have a lot to learn; take anything I say that sounds like teaching with a grain of salt.
