Today I woke up in a lazy mood.
I normally wake up at 4:40 am, make some coffee, wake up and begin writing or reading. Then at 6 AM I meditate... but today I found myself giving the dumbest excuses for not doing my zazen.
"Nah, I won't meditate because I have a lot of work. I'd better focus on my projects."
A minute later:
"Ah... my knee hurts from yesterday's run. I think I won't sit today."
A minute later:
"I think it's cold today. Not a good day for zazen"
A minute later I exploded in laughter because I realized all the crap my mind puts between me and zazen.
So I meditated and it was fantastic as usual.
What are your dumbest and more memorable excuses?
