In case anyone is interested there is a great, great course on 'the great courses' called 'Real Zen For Real Life' by Brett W. Davis that I just finished listening to. It is a great primer on Zen in general as well as things like Amida Buddha of Pure land Buddhism and also the teachings of Rinzai Zen. Brett echoes whatever Jundo says when he talks about Dogen and any differences in teaching I think are just differences in tastes, "in the north they like their dumplings less sweet than in the south" type of thing.
