    Grupo Zen Ryokan Jukai ceremony

    Dear Treeleafers,

On February 9th I had my first Jukai ceremony with my sangha, Grupo Zen Ryokan.

After many years of thinking about it it finally happened. It took a long time because most of the study material is only available in English and I had to do a lot of translations, video subtitles and research.

For many months we studied the Precepts and thanks you Bion, we had access to the best rakusu sewing video. We could sew with clear and precises instructions. Thanks Bion jukaiees-d.jpg jukaiees-c.jpg

As the day of the ceremony came close, things got pretty busy. I had to go pick people to the airport, put them in their hotels and take charge of everything.

If a Zoom ceremony is busy, having visitors from many parts of the world is even busier.

Today I write this a few days after the ceremony and I haven't got the time to process all the feelings.

I am no one and I have nothing. I have no temple, no fancy monk's clothes, no butsudan, not even zafus to sit with people. And yet, all these 22 people decided to sit and practice with me. They trusted me to give them the precepts.

The other part of me says, it's business as usual. Shut up and keep on moving forward.

I can only imagine how Jundo feel when people decide to follow him.

The ceremony was based on Treeleaf's Jukai ceremony. I just had to adapt some things.

Through all the ceremony Jundo and Treelaf were there.

I want to thank Jundo for all his work and inspiration.

Here are 2 pictures of my sturends, with the countries from where they are from. The ones without sign are from Mexico.

So there you have it, dear Treeleaf sangha. You have Dharma cousins in the Spanish speaking world ????

    Gassho,
