How to be Sick: Stuck in Slow Motion

    Dear all

This is a beautiful blog post/article by Vanessa Zuisei Goddard of Zen Mountain Monastery which appeared in Tricycle in Spring 2022:

I've felt this tired before, I’m sure of it. But never so relentlessly nor for so long. A battery of tests tell me there's nothing medically wrong with me. Friends think I'm depressed. I can list all the reasons why I think neither of these is true...

"Because although the gap between what I want and what I have is the place where suffering takes root, it’s also the space where practice becomes possible and real."

    Thank you, Kokuu.

        Good article.

The chasm between I Want and What Is
A gaping hole that causes me to miss
The beauty of the present moment
And all the joy that it can bring

I try to bridge the distance wide
        With bargaining and false pride
But acceptance is the key to peace
And the path to true release

For in the space between desire
        And reality's unyielding fire
Is where the practice comes alive
        And true understanding thrives

So let the mind and body slow
And let go of the need to know
For in the stillness and the peace
We find true happiness and release

Of course I am stuck in slow motion and I am not going anywhere and I’m not feeling good at all I don’t even have a good attitude and I am in so much pain and I don’t know what else to do.
                and I sat last night

I am feeling better today than I had a few hours and I have been up working on my computer for about two minutes today which is good for me. I’m just sad that I hadn’t done my poop in a group years ago though I have not said more than I expected. I’m not joking when I say I am in the best shape I have ever been in years. I’m good [emoji1665] and I’m good physically, and I’m happy [emoji2] with Majorie in every way! What movie is more impressive? That some guy like Robert Frost or Ann Sexton and the main of writers and all those who never are discussed or discovered! That is not unusual for a writer or poet to remain anonymous.
                  Gassho, sat/lah, deep bows!

I have a feeling that you will grow old there is the possibility that you will die. Now which do you want to feel better about yourself and I know you must die so why do you want to live forever and ever again and ever again and until you realize you will die, you are denying the truth.
