The 70th of 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    The Seventieth Gate:
Read the following, place it in your heart and sleep on it. Then, tomorrow, live it until evening when you can leave a brief comment on what you may have received during the process.

Effort*, as a part of the state of truth, is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] we become proficient in realization.

A “Dharma Gate” is a teaching or practice that can lead to spiritual growth: some kind of positive outcome in terms of our practice. A way to approach the truth.

    Koan:
"The whole meaning of your life is in the current matter."
    —Mazu

Effort has to do with how much work you're putting into something. A great achievement can also be considered a great effort. Effort has to do with how hard you're trying. If something is easy, it doesn't take much effort. If it's hard, it takes a lot of effort.

    Most note worthy replies:
May we, together with all buddhas,
practice mindful action with every step,
so that our hearts and minds may be in harmony,
and our actions may be a reflection of truth.

    Practice perfection
    And become
    What we've always been
